refresh, renew
A little rebrand, a little separation of two creative ventures that share the same brain.
My last name Tavernier in homage to my confectionery French ancestors seems perfectly fitting for my chocolate business, and the hyphenated appendage Singer when I married my partner and love seems perfect for a scrimshander.

modern mariner
It's been a long time since I've sat down to draw or etch, with chocolate taking over (quite sweetly) my creative life.
I've recently delved back into the traditional art of scrimshaw by re-visiting some of my old designs, introducing shimmery metallic inks, as well as exploring some newer, minimal designs (to be revealed soon). The current plan is to offer these wares in the rare times I can sit down and make them at shops & local pop-ups so people can see them in person and touch them before bringing them home.
This year look for them at the December Main St. Flea Holiday Pop-Up in Brattleboro Vermont!
As always, my work reflects a mindful & sustainable approach & appreciation for the natural world. Go here for more on my philosophy behind making scrimshaw.

lately
A year of many new beginnings, a lot of hard work, new connections & revisiting old, family histories & adventures. And it's only just begun.

full circle
Another year has rolled round. Gears have shifted, miles were traveled, hands were put on things that were only once lightly touched. New ideas are growing up from old. It feels like spring.
