happy weekend
There's something about this photo of a friend & I at a house party/performance a couple of weeks back that I really love - captures an un-self-conscious moment in conversation so well.
Happy conversing & socializing - cheers!

the silence that fills
Happy Birthday to John Cage. We attended a performance that honored his rich legacy with a three hour program of his works, & I had the privilege of performing 4' 33".

free range happy hour
Good food, good drink, great folks (including the furry variety). And of course, chickens. Perfect summer evening.
I love Vermont.

full metal kimono
These stunning metal kimonos were made by a dear friend of mine, Polish artist, photographer & makeup artist Gabriela von Seltmann (née Maciejowska).
Gabi & her husband, Uwe von Seltmann, a writer & film maker, have embarked on a project that examines painful & hitherto unknown pieces of their families' pasts, when Uwe discovered that his Grandfather was an SS Officer in Kraków, & Gabi learned that her Grandfather had perished in Auschwitz.
They spoke at a recent TED conference about how they met & were subsequently inspired to take on this difficult & illuminating piece of work.

happy unofficial summertime
A happy cat munching on grass; happy people noshing on good food & congregating at a vintage one-room schoolhouse; the aforementioned schoolhouse having been moved by a team of horses from one side of a field to another in the early 1900s, now nestled next to a stream & home to a dear friend; happy children playing in a pond in the schoolhouse's shadow; happy hour with chickens & their human compatriots at our friends' well-appointed home & gardens, right here in our little town. Vinho verde & sardines. A good weekend, indeed.
